I wrote this months ago but just realized I didn't post it. Picked up 1 lb pulled pork, 1 lb brisket, and 1/2 rack of ribs along with a side of coleslaw and beans. The ribs were very good. Both the pulled pork and brisket were great in that they were not greasy and had a nice smokiness. The sauces BBQ and hickory were ok but tasted like jarred. Having bought the quantity of meat we did, they could have been a bit more generous with it. The beans tasted like canned beans with some burnt ends tossed in which was fine and the coleslaw just needed a bit of salt. Place could use a bit of work on decor even a simple rustic touch would help. Definite roadside feel.

Ribs tasted like they were slow roasted over tires. Completely overlooked and burnt tasting. Everything else was ok. Disappointed because this is one of the only restaurants in the area. Drive somewhere else.

I would give 10 stars if I could. This is by far, the best BBQ place I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Why? Simple: BBQ pit outside, brick, huge, very simple construction (you should see the tar build up on the cover), with the wood burning simple fire pit next to it. 26 hours of slow cooking. Oh, also, the pit is fenced to keep the bears out - yeah the place is an outdoors, by the lake, in the middle-of-no-where type of location. You cannot go wrong on the meat with this setup. All you have to do is put the meat in the pit, keep the fire burning, take the meat out, carve and serve. And that's all he does. And the result is beyond description. Oh, and he is an inventor too. I mean, I asked "how did you come up with the fried Oreo dessert?" and he said "well, it was a slow week and I had nothing to do so I was playing around..." blah blah blah. It was amazing is all I can say. If you die without tasting his fried Oreo with ice cream and whipped cream and chocolate sauce on top that would probably be considered a sin - is what I would add to that statement. Just go there. Eat the brisket platter, remember what a potato salad is supposed to taste like, remember what coleslaw used to taste like, realize what fried oreo mixed with ice cream and whipped cream and chocolate sauce is capable of doing to your perception, then take your cup of coffee outside, by the lake, sit on the bench, and sip your coffee and just enjoy life. You're welcome.

Yummm. Got the pulled pork and triple threat sandwiches. Amazing. Everything is made by the owner in the smoker. Everything is super fresh and really good. I highly recommend this place.

Stumbled upon this while driving along the forest road one late morning. The hanging roadside menu promising Texas brisket, pulled pork and fried Oreos sold us -- we four city-folk were about to find out what Dingman's Ferry had to offer. We entered and were greeted by a waitress, who we later discovered is actually the owner's daughter, and were seated in a booth with a view of the lake. The atmosphere is what you'd likely expect from a country roadside eatery -- homey, a bit worn, decorated with kitschy porcine-characters and mismatched seats, but clean as a whistle. Despite it's ordinary decor, the food was anything but. Jolly, friendly and passionate, you can tell this man cares about the quality of his BBQ and finds joy in sharing his passion with his customers. Two of us ordered the brisket, mine on Texas toast -- moist, flavorful and complemented perfectly with the thick, crispy, buttery toast -- an exceptional plate. We also had the pulled pork sandwich, which we fully enjoyed once Kevin brought us his newest BBQ sauce creation. We did however have a vegetarian in our party, but they made every effort to accommodate her dietary restrictions; pancakes with every option you can imagine -- fresh berries, walnuts, pecans, chocolate chips. He even took to playfully walking her into the kitchen to get final approval. We were just about to ask for the check when he came out to remind us of what sold us in the first place: fried Oreos. Of course, we had to stick around. Two funnel cake-like batter encased the cookie, which was now like a warm cake, topped with vanilla ice cream and whip cream. Food coma ensued. Nothing delights me more than having my expectations exceeded and this little gem in the Poconos did just that.

A must try if you are looking for great BBQ. They have it all - pulled pork, ribs, brisket, sausage, turkey, and whole chickens - all smoked right out in front. all comes w/ a variety of sides and it's a BYOB as well. Quality, quantity, price, and service that can't be beat - all under one roof!

Went there with a few motorcycle friends this past weekend after riding around the back roads and visiting Dingmans Falls because of reading rave reviews. Wanted to see for myself. I have to tell you we were not dissapointed. Kevin and his daughter were great hosts. His son works the kitchen. It's a family affair. The place is located off route 402 but if you try to use Google maps the coordinates and address above are incorrect. Just look for Pecks Pond and the establishment is right on the banks of it. What a hidden gem this place is. The place is dated to say the least, but let's face it, it's the food that counts and it was spectacular. It was nice that the owner Kevin and his daughter showed us around the place. Such hospitable people. He BBQs his food fresh right outside the establishment. The brisket and for dessert the fried Oreo topped with Vanilla ice cream and a little whipped cream, to die for. And the prices, well coming from NYC, a steal. And if you want to take a canoe ride or go fishing on the lake, well you can do that too. A must go to place. Put this on your bucket list.

Awesome BBQ joint! So far, I've had their brisket and pulled pork, as well as their rib tips. All are delicious. Kevin, the owner, is a super friendly guy, who really seems to put a lot of love into his BBQ. The restaurant sits on Pecks Pond, and you can sit in their booths that line windows that view right over the entire lake. Do not hesitate to go in and give this place a try.

They cooked at a Hemlock Farms event in October. The BBQ pork sandwich was great. I will stop in the restaurant to try other food. You need to go try it you will love it.

Got a little lost on the way (don't trust Google Maps)! But, even with the delay, the food was well worth the drive. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Portions were generous; prices were reasonable, and the staff was beyond friendly. Throw in the view, and this is one place I'll definitely be headed back to!
